The concept for "Other People" began in summer of 2008 when Delaney Britt Brewer, John Pizza, and Candace Thompson convened for a night of improvised interviews. Writers, performers and visual artists in their own right, each person arrived with a sketch of a character they wanted to explore: Delaney Britt Brewer is the head writer and plays "Cricket" for Other People. She was a 2008-9 Dramatists Guild Fellow and a member of Ensemble Studio Theater's playwriting group: Youngblood. Her work has been produced and work shopped at PS122, Center Stage, Ensemble Studio Theater, Theater at St. Clements (for the New York Musical Theater Festival), Theater Row, The Abingdon, Collective Unconscious, The Chernuchin at the American Theater of Actors, and The Wings Theater. John Pizza is the resident art-director and plays "Charleyhorse" for Other People. Recently, he's performed at PS 122, The Tank, Dance New Amsterdam, and Movement Research at the Judson Church in New York, The CEC in Philadelphia, and the Oberlin Dance Center in San Fransisco. As a visual artist he has shown in galleries in New York, Oakland, and North Carolina, and has a cache of new and weird video works at www.kandeeteejohnpizza.com Candace Thompson is the director/editor and plays "Cliquot" for Other People. As a performer Candace has worked with Dreamworks, Wolf Films, The Kitchen (w/ artist Pablo Helguera), The Tank, and Ensemble Studio Theatre. As a video maker she has created pieces with Other People, IBTP, and NewSound Karaoke, as well as commercial projects for Hewlett Packard and Lexus. Candace is currently working on a documentary style piece about her native Appalachia (and beyond) called "Why We Stay, Why We Go". www.kandeeteejohnpizza.com
