The process of incorporating light Work begins in March and is finally completed on August 26th, when Light Work is officially recognized as a non-profit corporation in New York State. Light Work\u0027s first artist program is a workshop by Les Krims from April 16 to 18, 1973. Light Work applies to the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) for support and receives a $5,000 grant on October 4, 1973 for a series of exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. A hallway outside the Community Darkrooms is converted into Light Work\u0027s first gallery.
