Her first film, \u0022Before you go: A Daughter\u0027s Diary,\u0022 premiered on HBO in 1996 and won an Emmy for \u0022Outstanding News and Documentary Individual Achievement,\u0022 a Golden Spire at the San Francisco Int\u0027l Film Festival, and two Cable Ace nominations. Betancourt has produced another feature documentary entitled \u002290 Miles\u0022 about how the relationships within a Cuban family are shaped by the rift between the U.S. and Cuba.
