She constructs very personal narratives about landscapes, coincidence and trauma. She recently produced a trilogy of short video works about sex and depression called Steys Like This. She also recently completed a feature length project called Tiny Plastic Rainbow. She is currently working on a short narrative film called The Closer Stockholm. This project will be written in Stockholm, Sweden, shot in Chicago and edited at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. The Closer Stockholm will be released in early 2004 along with a web-based project of the same title. Upcoming exhibitions/screenings include The European Media Arts festival in Osnabruck, Germany, ONVI in Barcelona, Spain, and a solo screening at the Modema Museet in Stockholm, Sweden. Recent exhibitions/screenings include: The New York Video Festival, at The Lincoln Center; Double Heart/Hear the Art, at the Kunsthalle Exnergasse, Vienna, Austria; The World Wide Video Festival Amsterdam, Holland; SoundImageObjectVideo at Donald Young Gallery in Chicago; Video Jam at the Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art and Body as Byte at the Kunstmuseum in Luzem, Switzerland. Additional screenings/exhibitions: Viennale, in Vienna, Austria; the Havana Biennale in Cuba; Video Culture at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.; a Solo screening at the Anthology Film Archive in New York; The 2000 Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art; In the Middle of Nowhere at the Center for the Arts in San Frandsco; Generation Z at P.S.I, New York; The 48th International Venice Biennial, Venice, Italy. Jennifer received an MFA in 1996 from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was nominated for the 2000, 2001 and 2002 Rockefeller Grants for Film/Video/New Media and was also nominated for a 2001 Louis Comfort Tiffany Award for visual art. Jennifer currently lives in Chicago where she maintains a studio and is an Assistant Professor in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois.","offset":0,"nextOffset":null,"totalCharacters":2057,"complete":true},"rightsUrl":"https://www.videohistoryproject.org/terms-service"}
