His works tend to be responsive to a specific site or context, yet they all deal in some way with the conflicted spaces of sexual and social bodies. His recent work explores the dynamics of public speech and the human voice through the creation of computer choreographed interactive spaces where people verbally contribute their opinions, statements, wishes. Their words are processed by custom programs and replayed in architectural arrays of speakers to form elaborate sound sculptures that reveal unexpected qualities and meanings. His interactive audio sculpture \u0022Use it or Lose It\u0022 was installed in the stairwell at The Anthology Film Archives, NY for the Mix Experimental Film/Video Festival in November 2001. \u0022Muay Oasis\u0022 an interactive audio/video boxing ring designed for a hotel room was presented at the Platinum Oasis show in Hollywood CA, in 2001, curated by Ron Athey and Vaginal Davis. His \u0022Discretion Booths\u0022 have been shown at the SOHO Arts Festival, NY; Jackie60 @ Mother NYC, Pridefest NYC and the \u0022Securite\u0022 conference, at The Jan Van Eyck Akademie, The Netherlands. He has exhibited his single channel videos at national and international venues including The Mix Festival in New York; MIX Brazil, Outfest LA, the Video Room Video Festival, NY, and the 2000 Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria; as well as on cable and the internet. He received his MFA from The Massachusetts College of Art and has taught at The New School for Social Research, NYC; The Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and at Film Video Arts, NY. Larry is a 2003 nominee for a Rockefeller Foundation Film and Video Fellowship and is a Visiting Artist in Video at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.","offset":0,"nextOffset":null,"totalCharacters":1788,"complete":true},"rightsUrl":"https://www.videohistoryproject.org/terms-service"}
