From 1998-2000 she directed the weekly Pratt Institute Film Series in Brooklyn, which included live music, performance and installations. After programming over one hundred events in New York City, she spent four years touring Europe, Mexico, America and Canada with curated screenings and exhibitions at art museums, film festivals, rock clubs and alternative spaces. From 2006-2007, she was the inaugural director of The Warehouse Gallery at Syracuse University, curating international contemporary art exhibitions including COME ON: Desire Under The Female Gaze, Faux Naturel, Embracing Winter, and presenting Networked Nature with Rhizome. She is director of Carnegie Mellon University\u0027s Regina Gouger Miller Gallery. Suparak has curated national exhibitions, screenings and events at the Yale University School of Architecture, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, The Kitchen, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the FotoFest Biennial, Eyebeam, the Anthology Film Archives and P.S.1. She has also worked in England, Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Italy, Ireland, Belgium and France. From 1997 to 2000, she was director of the media series at Pratt Institute, and she is currently serving on the advisory panel for the Aurora Picture Show in Houston and the Public Art Commission for the city of Syracuse. As an artist, Suparak\u0027s work has been published in the feminist journal \u0022LTTR,\u0022 the British art magazine \u0022Black Diamond\u0022 and the book \u0022Graffiti Women: Street Art from Five Continents.\u0022 She has written for NY Arts, Heeb, The Independent Film and Video Monthly and has an essay in the forthcoming volume of \u0022Live Cinema: A Contemporary Reader.\u0022 Suparak received a bachelor\u0027s degree in studio art and art history from Pratt Institute in 2000, and later pursued museum studies at Syracuse University. https://www.astriasuparak.com/","offset":0,"nextOffset":null,"totalCharacters":1896,"complete":true},"rightsUrl":"https://www.videohistoryproject.org/terms-service"}
