Aaron Davidson

Western Washington University. BFA, University of New Mexico. He is currently visiting instructor at Pratt, and recently received a residency from Smack Mellon Studios.

His work in collaboration with Melissa Dubbin has been featured internationally in exhibitions, festivals, and performances including Rhizome Remix@Bronx Museum of the Arts (NYC), Espace Paul Richard (Paris), Outer Limits International Video and Film Festival (NYC), SITE Santa Fe (Santa Fe), Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT), and the New York/Quebec Interlace Festival in Quebec and NYC. They have worked on a variety of interactive media, video and telecommunications projects with artists such as LOT/EKarchitecture (Ada Tolla and Giuseppe Lignano), media artists Steina and Woody Vasulka, composer Morton Subotnick and composer/vocalist Joan LaBarbara.     Jon Cates (BFA, 1997, Illinois State University) is a professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; his videos have screened at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), DiverseWorks (Houston) and South by South West (Austin, TX). He presented at the Cinema and Cultural Studies Symposium (Florida State University), ISEA (Manchester Metropolitan University) and Nebulous (Champaign-Urbana), and completed a residency at the Experimental Television Center. He develops curriculum on emerging media and networked arts practice, co-organized Version>04: invisibleNetworks and curates Game-Video (videos influenced [+/or] informed by video games).

    David Herbert holds a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, WA) and is an MFA candidate at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA); his exhibitions include 911 Media Arts Center (WA), Sea-Tac Airport (WA), Festival Internacional del Cine Pobre (Cuba), Washington State Convention Center, Arizona State University, California State University (chico), Bellevue Art Museum (WA), Whatcom County Art Museum (WA), Tacoma Art Museum (WA), Black Lab Gallery (WA), and the Cornish Alumni Gallery (WA).   • Davidson Gigliotti People

    Davidson Gigliotti, an original member of the alternative video collectives Videofreex and Media Bus, served as Director of Video at the Experimental Intermedia Foundation in New York from 1975 to 1987 and is described as one of video’s pioneers. His single-channel tapes and multi-channel video installations study urban and rural environments to recreate the experience of place, and he produced anthologies of contemporary performance artists and musicians. Born in 1939, he attended the Rhode Island School of Design and New York University; he received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Creative Artists Public Service (CAPS) and held residencies at KTCA-TV Minneapolis, Visual Studies Workshop, Rochestor, and WXXI-TV Rochester; distribution noted as Electronic Arts Intermix Early Video Project (http://208.55.137.252/).

  • Lauren Petty People

    Lauren Petty is a media artist and teacher working in sound, installation and film; she earned an MA in Video Art & Performance from NYU's Gallatin school in 1999 and is Chief Video Engineer at Harvestworks Media Arts Center. She teaches at The New School, the International Center of Photography and Pratt Institute and produces multiple-channel video/sound installations, single-channel works, interactive video scores and collaborative projects with The Wooster Group. Her work has been exhibited and screened at institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Brooklyn Museum; she has received grants and fellowships, including two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, and residencies at MacDowell and Yaddo.

  • Cynthia Lovett People

    Cynthia Lovett received an MPS from the Tisch School of the Arts - Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University (2001) and an MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia (1996); she participated in residencies including the PS1 International Studio Program and the Harvestworks New Works Residency (1998). She has exhibited video and installation works at The Sculpture Center, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Momenta Art (Brooklyn), and the Galleries at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia; she was a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Swing Space Artist and an artist in residence at the Rotunda Gallery/BCAT Multimedia Residency (2005-06) and the Experimental Television Center (2006).
