Andreea Costenco

Andreea Costenco started her career as an artist with a Diploma in Fashion design in her native Bucharest and continued to achieve a degree in Fine Arts from the University there. She has also recently completed a Masters in Scenography at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in London. Recent works include "Something about Lysistrata" an installation and performance at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, Palermo, Sicily and a short (6 min) experimental video called "World Story" shown at the Uncut short film event at the ICA (Previously exhibited at the CineMAiubit Festival at the Cinema Studio in Bucharest). In 2002 she put on an installation and intervention exhibition entitled "I Love NY" at the Eforie Gallery in Bucharest which was later shown as a multimedia exhibition at the Fulbright Commission in Bucharest.

As a painter Andreea has exhibited at "Young Colours -- Young Painting Today" at the Art Expo/ National Theatre of Romania and she exhibited "Looking for Mr Green" at the Rumanisches Kulturinstitut Titu Maiorescu in Berlin. In 2002 she put on an exhibition entitled Metamorfosi at the Instituto Romeno di Cultura e Ricerca Umanistica in Venice. Other exhibitions have been in Tel Aviv and Herteliyya in Israel. As a designer she designed the set and costumes for a prestigious 2002 production of Caragiale's "A stormy Night" at the Bulandra Theatrea, also shown at National Festival of Theatre "Ion Luca Caragiale", XII Edition in Bucharest and The Young Actor Gala Mangalia in 2002.

    Ariadna Capasso, born in Buenos Aires, received a B.A. from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (Summa Cum Laude, 1997) and an M.F.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder (2000); she lives and works in New York City and has exhibited in Argentina, Mexico, Poland and the United States. She explores disparate, sometimes conflicting, value systems among culturally diverse groups and shifted from painting to new technologies, producing installations and performances using sound, slide and video projections. Major projects include La Conquista, shown as part of Bargain Vision at the CU Art Galleries whose video screened in Boston, Brooklyn (N.Y.), Scope Art Fair 2003 and Gallery On, Poznan, Poland; and Carry On, a photography and audio essay on home and homelessness exhibited at the Hatton Galleries, Colorado State University.

    Frances Young received an MA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts London in 2007; her work has been exhibited and screened in multiple venues. Notable presentations include Anticipation: An Exhibition of London's Best Emerging Artists (Ultralounge, London, UK, 2008), Le:60 Film Festival (Cambridge, MA, USA, 2008), and Future50 (Whitehall Waterfront, Leeds, UK, 2008).

    Sheri Wills is a video and digital media artist and an associate professor of art at The University of Rhode Island; she holds an MFA in filmmaking and an MA in Modern Art History, Theory and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.     Nadia Hironaka holds an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1999) and a BFA from The University of the Arts (1997); her video and film work has been exhibited and screened at venues and festivals including the 14th Philadelphia Film Festival (April 7–20, 2005), Rencontres internationales Paris/Berlin (2004) and Surface Tension at The Fabric Workshop and Museum (2003). She received awards and support including a 2004 Director's Choice at Black Maria, SOS and Leeway Foundation grants, and was Artist in Residence at FABRICA (2001). She has worked as Video Archivist at The Fabric Workshop and Museum (2000–present), taught video workshops and delivered lectures and juries.

  • Raphaele Shirley People

    Raphaele Shirley is a New York City–based artist specializing in public art and collaborative interventions; [PAM] is her most recent collaboration and she showed in Two Continents and Beyond for the 9th Istanbul Biennale. She worked with Nam June Paik on the development and management of his laser sculptures (1997-2002) and collaborated with Eliot Sharp, Alex Haas and Brian Eno; she was a founding member of the New York International Fringe Festival and invited visual artists, performers and undergraduates (Pratt Univ.) to install temporary public art in the Lower East Side.
