Andrew Lynn

ANDREW LYNN is the Manager of Education and Development at the MNN Youth Channel in New York City, where he develops media literacy curriculum and manages the peer education program. He is also a musician and video producer. Most recently he co-directed and produced the documentary "Still We Ride." He completed an MFA at Rensselaer's iEAR program in 2002 and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.

  • Andrew Neumann People

    Andrew Neumann is a Boston-based avant-garde filmmaker and artist who makes wall-mounted kinetic video sculptures that use computer-controlled turn-screws, small LCD video monitors and tiny cameras to reveal inscribed messages; a projected videotape by the artist was also on view. He works across sculpture, electronic/interactive music and film/video installation; his single-channel videos have been shown on PBS, The Worldwide Video Festival and at Artist Space. He exhibited at the DeCordova Museum and Art Interactive last year and at bitforms gallery in New York City this year; he holds a filmmaking degree from Emerson College and formerly taught at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

  • David Gracon People

    David Gracon received his masters degree from the University at Buffalo in Media Study and Sociology; his production interests include documentary, experimental documentary/video, diary and collage. He taught video and film interpretation at UB for two years and taught video and sound art at the University of Rochester; after a brief stint as technical director of Squeaky Wheel, Buffalo Media Resources, he moved to Kanazawa-City, Japan to teach English and make new work. Other interests include zines, underground music, punk, activism, travel, subcultures and a Japanese video game whose sole object is to walk a dog; he is presently at the University of Oregon.

    Karen Helmerson is Director of the Electronic Media and Film Program and has worked with independent and community-based media for over 20 years; she served as Deputy Director of Film/Video Arts and as Associate Director of the Educational Video Center. As former chair of the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) International Committee she traveled throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Japan speaking on access, literacy and development; she has exhibited as a video artist, served on the board of the Media Alliance and was recently a NYSCA Arts in Education panelist.

  • Carolyn Tennant People

    Carolyn Tennant holds an MFA from SUNY at Buffalo and a BA (1997) from Hampshire College; additional studies include Squeaky Wheel (2003), Visual Studies Workshop (2002), Mount Holyoke (1993–95), Cornell (1993–94) and the Salt Center for Documentary Field Studies (1994). Since 6/2002 she has been affiliated with the Experimental Television Center (Newark Valley, NY) and from 1/2002 served as Research Assistant for Dr. Zimmermann at Ithaca College, performing copy editing and administrative work. Her Chicago employment included office-manager and receptionist roles; her productions include Fenceline, The Last Hand Loader, Rulloff's Brain, Mazamorreo (recipient of a $10,000 Ill. Humanities Council grant), and the multi-media You Don't Feed Me.
