Andy Graydon is an artist and filmmaker based in New York City. His work focuses on the problems and potentials in the interaction of sound and image. Taking the form of videos, live video mixes, sound works, media objects and installations, this work explores the boundary zones between performance and exhibition, liveness and mediation, presence and deferral. Recent exhibitions and performances include work at Art In General, Participant Inc gallery, Galeria Galou, The Dumbo Arts Festival, Millennnium Film Workshop, The Tank, The Lehman College gallery, Monkeytown and Tonic. He is currently the visiting artist at the Center for Computer Music, Brooklyn College. Recent sound releases are available on 12k/Term, On;(do) Music, Seasonal, The NY Society for Acoustic Ecology, and forthcoming from the non visual objects and EKO labels. Collaborations include performances with Kenneth Kirschner and Sawako, Amnon Wolman and David Grubbs, Zach Layton and Giles Hendrix, and Richard Garet. Graydon is a founding member of the EA photo-electro-acoustic collective. He is the co-founder and curator of two series of live media performance events in New York City, Becoming and Sonogrammar.
