Angela Tucker

Angela currently is the Outreach Coordinator for Outside Looking In: Transracial Adoption in America. She was the Associate Producer for the recently completed film Deadline, for which she is also the Outreach Coordinator. She has worked in various capacities on the film Hughes Dream Harlem (directed by Jamal Joseph), a documentary about Langston Hughes airing on Black Starz Network. She completed coursework for her MFA in Film from Columbia University where she was awarded a Dean's Fellowship.

She was the Co-Creator of dilateworld, a Brooklyn based organization focused on breaking stereotypes about women, people of color and gays and lesbians in entertainment. Currently, she is developing a documentary about African-American women with bipolar disorder that has received funding from The Paul Robeson Fund for Independent Media. Angela received her B.A. with Honors from Wesleyan University in Theater and African-American Studies. Tucker joined Big Mouth in 2002.

    Beth Berolzheimer is a Chicago-based media artist and activist who produces videos, photographs and multimedia installations; her thirty-year career engages early European filmmaking, documentary and narrative film theory, art history, feminist and semiotic ideologies and a personal post-colonial critique. She was a ten-year member of Women In The Director's Chair and collaborated with Beyondmedia on videotapes about battered women and the NGO Forum for Women in China and documented post-glasnost rebuilding by Jewish women in Russia and the Ukraine. She introduced the first Avid digital non-linear editing systems to Columbia College Film/Video in 1993, is an Avid Certified Instructor and has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Columbia College.

  • Anya Liftig People

    Anya Liftig, born in Norwalk, CT in 1977, is an artist and writer whose work has been published in outlets including Now and Then, Green Mountain Review, Mix Magazine, The Yale Alumni Magazine, Public Culture and The New York Times Magazine. She has performed and exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as the University of Wisconsin, Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, Art Basel Miami, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia and TATE Modern. Her recent work The Anxiety of Influence was a guerrilla intervention into Marina Abramovic's The Artist is Present at MOMA in which she sat across from Abramovic all day dressed like the elder artist; she holds degrees from Yale University and Georgia State University and resides in Brooklyn, New York.

  • Dara Greenwald People

    Dara Greenwald is an interdisciplinary artist with an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA from Oberlin College; she taught part-time at SAIC Film/Video/New Media (2003–2005), was Distribution Manager at the Video Data Bank (1998–2005) and pursued an MFA at RPI in 2007. Her practice is experimental and socially engaged, influenced by punk DIY and anarchist mutual-aid values; she co-founded the tactical media group Pink Bloque. Her single-channel videos have screened internationally and her writing appeared in outlets including Clamor and the Journal of Aesthetics & Protest.

    Review of two 1984–85 exhibitions of feminist video: Revising Romance: New Feminist Video, organized and distributed by the American Federation of Arts and curated by Linda Podheiser and Bob Riley (ICA Boston, Sept 1–Dec 31, 1984; touring to Ohio State, Portland, and Cornell in 1985), and Difference: On Representation and Sexuality, videotapes curated by Jane Weinstock (New Museum, Dec 8, 1984–Feb 10, 1985; Renaissance Society and ICA London in 1985). The essay surveys numerous videotapes and artists (Condit, Yonemoto, Broughel, Antin, Godard, Birnbaum, Almy, Roster, among others), notes formats including super-8, three-channel black-and-white and television-produced half-hour tapes, and critiques curatorial emphases on Lacanian film theory and program balance while highlighting several standout works.

  • Kathy Rae Huffman People

    Kathy Rae Huffman is Director of Visual Arts at Cornerhouse, Manchester; from June 2000 to May 2002 she directed Hull Time Based Arts and the ROOT festival. From 1998 to 2000 she was Associate Professor of Electronic Art and director of EMAC at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, researching female environments on the Internet, 3D online environments and telepresence. She curated new media exhibitions at Cornerhouse including Grace Weir A Fine Line and Lab3D, co-organized Web3Dart (from 1999), co-initiated the FACES network and collaborated with Eva Wohlgemuth on FACE SETTINGS and SIBERIAN DEAL; earlier curatorial posts include WGBH/ICA, The ICA and Long Beach Museum of Art.
