Abstract | Organized by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery "to provide an informal viewing situation in which producers of art related videotapes from the western New York area can show their tapes and view those of others". Panelists: Lyn Blumenthal (Co-Director Video Data Bank of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago); Kate Horsfield (Co-Director Video Data Bank of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago); Simone Forti (Dancer and video artist); Hermine Freed (Video artist and documentor); Gerald O'Grady (Director of the Center for Media Study and Educational Communications Center, SUNY/Buffalo); William Wegman (Video artist). Continuous screening of over 60 videotapes in the Gallery auditorium. Catalog included in conference packet contains list of tapes screened. Works produced at the Experimental Television Center include those by Peer Bode, Meryl Blackman, Jane Wright, Ed Mellnik. "Art V represented the first video symposium organized by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery...
