Beatriz da Costa

Beatriz da Costa is a Machine Artist and Tactical Media Practitioner. In addition to her collaborations with Jamie Schulte and Brooke Singer, Beatriz has worked with Critical Art Ensemble since summer 2000 and has taken part in the development and implementation of various bio-tech initiatives and models of contestational science. Beatriz's work has been exhibited at the New Museum in New York, ISEA in Japan and the World Information Organization in Belgrade.

She has recently joined the faculty of UC Irvine as an Assistant Professor in the new graduate program of Arts, Computation and Engineering. www.beatrizdacosta.net.     Tina LaPorta is a media artist who has created web-specific artwork since 1997; she was Artist-in-Residence at Ars Electronica's FutureLab (Linz, Austria), where she created the web-based video installation TRACES.     Camille Utterback (San Francisco) is a pioneering artist and programmer in interactive video installation; her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections including The La Caixa Foundation (Barcelona). She received a Transmediale International Media Art Festival Award (2005) and a Rockefeller Foundation New Media Fellowship (2002). She holds a BA from Williams College and a Masters degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University Tisch School of the Arts, and has taught in the MFA Design of Technology at Parsons School of Design and in the Interactive Telecommunication Program at New York University.

  • Anita Cheng People

    Anita Cheng holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Michigan; her choreography and media work has been presented in theaters, galleries, on DVD and the Internet. She received Experimental Television Center Grants (1998–1999) and Fulbright Grants for choreography to Hong Kong (1991) and to the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro (2007) to teach digital art and performance at the School of Communications (ECO). In collaboration with Ronaldo Kiel she held residencies at Dance Theater Workshop's Media Lab (2004) and the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center (2005) and produced site-specific installations and commissions including Novel Lift (Brooklyn Public Library, 2005), Journey (Oi Futura, Oct 2007), Relay (Central Library, Feb 2008) and Remembered River (Connecticut College, Feb 2008).

    Galen Joseph-Hunter has served as Executive Director of free103point9 since 2002 and worked at Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI) since 1996. She co-curated Video Jam with Michael Rush at the Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art (2001) and curated See Through at PBICA (2000); other projects include Video Windows (2001), Tune(In))) (2003), Tune(In))) The Kitchen (2004) and Airborne (2005).     Barbara Lattanzi is an artist whose practice involves constructing and applying "cinema software"; she has written and applied digital code for projects including motion-picture riffing and improvisation (Unwriting), remediation of particular "structuralist" films of the 1970s (HF Critical Mass), reexamination of the sing-along as ideology critique (C-SPAN Karaoke), and perceptual experimentation with extended-duration moving-image structures (Optical De-dramatization Engine).
