- Peggy Gale People
Born in Guyana and educated in Florence and at the University of Toronto (honours B.A., 1967), Peggy Gale worked at the Art Gallery of Ontario before serving as Art Metropole's first Video/Film Director (1975–79). From 1974 (full-time since 1981) she worked as an independent curator and writer; she served as Canadian commissioner to the XIV Bienal Internacional de S„o Paulo (1977) and the XII Biennale de Paris (1982) and curated internationally in Berlin, Vancouver, Madrid and Tokyo. She curated and hosted TVOntario's 1994 series Video Art Vidéo, published Videotexts (1995) and edited Video re/View (1996), and has served on national arts juries and committees.
