Caitlin Berrigan

Caitlin Berrigan is an emerging artist in the fields of video, sculpture, performance, and interactive art. A graphic and web designer by trade, Caitlin is also an engaged activist with foci on hepatitis C education, media democracy, and gender politics. An element of social change underlies all of her work. The medicalized, merchandized, and sexualized body are among the cultural filters that influence our experience of embodiment.

In her work, Caitlin Berrigan questions the world of representation through encounters between bare flesh and the fantasy of the image. She addresses our attractions and repulsions to violence, desire, and possession via performance, video, and intimate objects. Critical, but also inventive, she deconstructs the mechanisms of imagery through playful, subversive works. http://www.membrana.us/

    Katherine Behar is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York City whose installations, performances and videos mix low and high technologies to portray sensuous experience in digital media. Her practice is guided by the principle of placing Matter over Mind and emphasizes camaraderie with the physical armatures that uphold bits and bytes.     Rebecca Dolan holds an MFA in Photography and Digital Imaging from Maryland Institute College of Art (1999) and a BFA from Colorado State University (1991); she is Assistant Professor in the Photography & New Media Department at Kansas City Art Institute. Her exhibitions include solo shows in Kansas City (2003 Field; 2004 White, working title) and screenings at the National Gallery Film Theatre (2002) and Goethe Institut (2001); her installations are multi-channel video works with dimensional sound, and her videography (1998–2001) includes collaborations with Patrick Wright.   • Jillian McDonald People

    Jillian McDonald teaches art at Pace University in New York City and curates and co-directs the Pace Digital Gallery; her critical writing and curated projects focus on performative art in temporary or unexpected places, including the online exhibition Ebay: Buy or Sell or Buy. Her work has been shown at The Whitney Museum's Artport, Year Zero One (Toronto), La Biennale de Montréal and ISEA 2004 (Talinn), and recent solo/two-person shows include vertexList, TPW and YYZ. She has received grants from The Canada Council for the Arts, Soil New Media, Turbulence, The Gunk Foundation, NYSCA, The Experimental Television Center, Thirdplace.org and Pace University, and has lectured and held residencies at DAIMON, Sagamie, La Chambre Blanche, Em-Media and Harvestworks.

  • Linda Iannacone People

    Linda Iannacone is an artist, video producer, activist and educator who taught video production, media literacy and visual arts to adults and youth through MNN, Educational Video Center, DCTV, Paper Tiger TV, Henry Street Settlement House and international programs in Vienna and at NGBK. With Paper Tiger TV she produced programs including Drawing the Line at Pittston (covering an 11 month coal miners strike), Staking a Claim in Cyberspace (on changing information technologies and media access), and Rock Paper, Missiles (a critique of U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine); she also produced the documentary AMOK!, about a radical gender bending circus traveling through New York City communities, and she states a belief in holistic activism employing art, music, voice and action toward social justice.

  • Cynthia Lovett People

    Cynthia Lovett received an MPS from the Tisch School of the Arts - Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University (2001) and an MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia (1996); she participated in residencies including the PS1 International Studio Program and the Harvestworks New Works Residency (1998). She has exhibited video and installation works at The Sculpture Center, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Momenta Art (Brooklyn), and the Galleries at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia; she was a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Swing Space Artist and an artist in residence at the Rotunda Gallery/BCAT Multimedia Residency (2005-06) and the Experimental Television Center (2006).   • Devlin Shea People

    Devlin Shea is a visual artist working in drawing, painting and video; her work has been shown at Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center, Carnegie Art Center, Squeeky Wheel (Buffalo, New York) and Green Street Gallery (Boston), and has traveled in group shows with the Evolutionary Girls Club to Germany, Sweden, Finland, and the Ukraine. Her drawings have been published in 3rdfloor arts journal; she has undertaken residencies at the Experimental Television Center and LMCC. Since 2000 she has worked as a consultant conducting visual based interviews for a market research company; she is collaborating with Blithe Riley on Belief Objects, a video interview project that participated in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's swing space residency in summer/fall 2006 and moved to a Brooklyn College residency in January 2007.
