Summary

Catalina Santamaria is a director, editor, cinematographer and photographer; her works include September 11 2002 (Digital, 10 min, 2001), Except my soul (16mm, 13 mns, 2000), Derail (16mm, 8 min, 1998) and the multimedia Echoes Through the Jungle (1993). Derail received the Kodak Cinematography Award, First Place Audience Award at The New Haven Film Festival and the Bogen Tri-pod Award; her films screened at festivals in New Haven, Cartagena, Bogota and Vina del Mar, and her photographs were exhibited in Cambridge (2004), Rayo Museum (2002) and Medellín (1994). She worked freelance as cinematographer, videographer and editor, was full-time photographer for El Diario La Prensa (November 2001–June 2002), and served as 16mm film production teaching assistant at New School for Social Research (September 1997–May 1999).
