Dallas Brennan

Dallas Brennan Rexer joined Big Mouth Productions in 1998. With Katy Chevigny, she recently produced the award-winning documentary Deadline, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and broadcast on NBC in 2004 as part of a ground-breaking deal for independent media and documentaries. She is currently producing Arctic Waltz and Election Day, two verité documentaries in post production.

Rexer previously co-produced Outside Looking In: Transracial Adoption in America (ITVS) and Journey to the West: Chinese Medicine Today (Wellspring Media). Prior to joining Big Mouth, she worked in multiple capacities on the public television documentaries OUR HOUSE: A Very Real Documentary about the Kids of Gay and Lesbian Parents (directed by Meema Spadola), and An American Love Story (directed by Jennifer Fox). She has also served as a researcher and consultant with the Philadelphia Festival of the Arts, the Museum of American Folk Art and the Levy/Paley Galleries of Philadelphia.

Rexer is a 1997/98 Fulbright Scholar who conducted research on television programming and the construction of a national identity in Trinidad, West Indies. Her reviews have appeared in American Anthropologist and the International Institute for the Visual Arts Web site. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College's Philosophy Department.

    Don Bernier has worked in experimental and documentary media since the early 1990s; he earned a BFA at Kansas City Art Institute and a graduate degree in Media Study from SUNY-Buffalo (1994). From 1994 to 2001 he taught media production and theory in western New York, the San Francisco Bay Area and Boston and produced work exhibited across North America; in late 2001 he relocated to New York City to focus on documentary production, worked with PBS filmmakers Stephen Ives and David Grubin and completed projects screened at film and video festivals nationwide.

Since 6/2002 she has been affiliated with the Experimental Television Center (Newark Valley, NY) and from 1/2002 served as Research Assistant for Dr. Zimmermann at Ithaca College, performing copy editing and administrative work. Her Chicago employment included office-manager and receptionist roles; her productions include Fenceline, The Last Hand Loader, Rulloff's Brain, Mazamorreo (recipient of a $10,000 Ill. Humanities Council grant), and the multi-media You Don't Feed Me.

  • Diane Bonder People

    Diane Bonder is an experimental filmmaker who has worked for ten years in super-8 and 16mm, using documentary, poetic and semi-narrative forms to address autobiographical themes of identity, sexuality, addiction, memory and loss. Her work has screened internationally, including at The New Museum of Contemporary Art, The Whitney Museum and The Brooklyn Museum of Art; she has received awards including a Lyn Blumenthal Memorial Award and a Mid-Atlantic Media Fellowship. She serves on the screening committee of the New Festival; Berks Filmmakers and Alissa Lebow note her combination of varied moving-image media into a playful experimental esthetic.
