Deborah Poe

Deborah Poe has worked as environmental activist in Austin, hostel clerk and bartender in Paris, a waitress in Taos, engineering assistant at Oregon Steel Mill in Portland, as editor and international program manager in Seattle, and as educator in Washington state and New York.

She is working on publishing her first collection of poetry, Our Parenthetical Ontology, and on a forthcoming book entitled Elements. Her poems were nominated for Pushcart Prizes the last two years and have appeared in journals such as Drunken Boat, Anemone Sidecar, Sugar Mule, and Snow Monkey and in the anthology Fingernails Across the Chalkboard: Poetry and Prose on HIV/AIDS From the Black Diaspora.

  • Barbara Rosenthal People

    Barbara Rosenthal (born 17 August 1948) is a New York–based conceptual polyartist who has produced photographs, videos, super/8 films, objects, games, performances, book-art and interactive novelties; her work was shown at The Jewish Museum (Time and Memory: Video Art and Identity, 1988) and the Center For Photography in Woodstock (Time, Memory, and the Limits of Photography, 1995), and is held by The Whitney Museum and MoMA. She studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, Art Students' League (1964–66), earned a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon (1970) and an M.F.A. from Queens College/CUNY (1973), and has taught at numerous institutions including Tisch School of the Arts/NYU and CUNY/College of Staten Island (teaching Writing since 1992); published books include Clues to Myself (1981), Sensations (1984), Homo Futurus (1996) and Soul & Psyche (1999).

    Melinda Rackham is an artist and writer based in Sydney, Australia; she has worked online since the mid 1990s from the domain www.subtle.net, creating imaginal and hypertextual sites that explore online identity, locality, sexuality, community, viral symbiosis and trans species relations. She is undertaking a Phd in Virtual Media at College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales; her writing has appeared in Ctheory, Culture Machine, Leonardo and Realtime, and she has presented at Contagion (Australia), Invencao (Brazil) and Consciousness Reframed (Wales). She has held residencies at Polar Circuit (Finland) and Discovery at Banff Center for the Arts (Canada); her award-winning web works have been included in Beyond Interface, Arco Electronico, Perspecta, Transmediale, File, Art Entertainment Network, The Montreal Biennale, European Media Art Festival and ISEA.

    Kelly Jacobson is an artist who explores how entropic systems in the body and architecture translate into artifacts of human experience; she examines how the metaphorical language of housing and the manifestation of tools and infrastructure record identities, desires and actions. Her practice uses language, science and personal history to produce allegory and artifact. She received a BFA in Metalsmithing from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2001, lives in Rochester, NY, and lists www.kellyjacobson.net.
