Douglas Irving Repetto

Douglas Irving Repetto is an artist and teacher. His work, including sculpture, installation, performance, recordings, and software, is presented internationally. He is the founder of a number of art/community-oriented groups including dorkbot: people doing strange things with electricity, ArtBots: The Robot Talent Show, organism: making art with living systems, and the music-dsp mailing list and website.

In addition to working as an artist, curator, and organizer, Douglas is Director of Research at the Columbia University Computer Music Center. http://music.columbia.edu/~douglas

He curated art@radio, was artist in residence at Communication Front (Bulgaria), has performed at international festivals and is presently professor of visual art at the University of Maryland.

  • Liz Phillips People

    Liz Phillips, a New York-based artist, has been making interactive installations for the past thirty five years; she uses sound as primary material and detects presence and movement with capacitance radio-frequency fields, computers, a K-2000 synthesizer and C++ programs co-designed by Michael Wu to convert voltages into sound and image. Born in New Jersey in 1951, she received a B.A from Bennington College in 1973 and co-founded Parabola Arts Foundation in 1981. Her work has been shown at The Whitney, SFMOMA and Ars Electronica; she collaborated with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.

  • Aaron Miller People

    Aaron Miller is an artist working in real-time, interactive and generative art who develops personalized hardware, software and audio/video instruments; he co-founded the Perpetual Art Machine, an online video art community and traveling installation. His exhibitions include Art Basel Miami Beach and Albright-Knox Art Gallery's Beyond/In Western New York; his multimedia performance Terminus received an NYSCA Individual Artist Grant. He has designed software for artists including Gary Hill for venues such as the Louvre and Pompidou; BA, Alfred University; MA, Media Study and Computer Music, University at Buffalo.
