    Inter-Media Art Center, Inc. (IMAC) is a publicly supported non-profit media and performing arts center in Huntington, Long Island, serving New York State public and non-profit arts, educational and social service communities. Founded in 1974 with a New York State Council on the Arts grant as the first non-profit Media Arts Center on Long Island, IMAC moved to Bayville in 1976 to develop multi-camera studios and editing facilities and returned to Huntington in 1983 to occupy a converted movie palace balcony. IMAC received support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts and county cultural offices and was designated a Primary Organization in 1983; Michael Rothbard and Kathy Bodily are named.

    The Inter-Media Art Center (IMAC), founded in 1974 by Michael Rothbard (Director) and Kathy Bodily, operated as a Long Island video access, production, exhibition and training facility; a 1976 brochure lists a Video Production Resource Center with Portapak loans, workshops and post-production services and a media presentations program. A 1978 notice describes open equipment access with staffed color studio and editing suites; a 1980 article describes a 45' x 50' studio with two color cameras, a 6-channel audio mixer and $25/hour rental. By 1984 IMAC offered multi-camera TV production, 3/4" editing and film-to-tape transfers; programs were funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
