Jacqueline Goss uses a variety of analog and digital media to explore the expressive slides and snags one encounters while moving between oral and written communication. All of her work features the speaking subject. In each piece, voice also determines the selection of tools, materials, and approach. Recent video projects include "The 100th Undone" --an ode to the individual in the age of biotechnical reproduction and "There There Square" --a short animated history of mapmaking in the United States. Her media work has shown at such venues as the New York Video Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival, Flaherty Film Seminar, Pacific Film Archive, Walker Center for the Arts, and the International Symposium of Electronic Art (ISEA). She has received fellowships and residencies from the New York Foundation for the Arts, New York Council on the Arts, Banff Centre for the Arts, Experimental Television Center and the Macdowell Colony. Goss began making films and videos as a student at Brown University and earned an MFA in Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1997. Recent exhibitions and screenings at American Museum of Natural History, Eyebeam Atelier, Rotterdam Film Festival, New York Video Festival at Lincoln Center, Pacific Film Archives. Contributor to gurl, alt-x, and beehive websites. (2001— ) She currently teaches in the Film and Electronic Arts Department at Bard College in Annandale, New York.
