Jason Simon

Jason Simon is an artist based in New York. His films and videos are distributed by The Video Data Bank and First Run/Icarus Films and his installations and photographs have shown in solo shows at Pat Hearn Gallery and American Fine Arts Co. His work has also appeared in The Whitney Museum Biennial, National Museum of Osaka, Neue Gallerie, Graz, The Jersey City Museum Biennial, The New Museum and The Kitchen, with 2003 selections at the Subtropics Video Festival, Miami and the Cinematexas festival, Austin.

He has written for Frieze, Parkett, Purple and Afterimage and has organized programs for Exit Art, Artists Space and a traveling show of American videos entitled "Downsizing the Image Factory." He worked to establish The Art and Technology Department at the Wexner Center for the Arts from 1989 to 1991 and is currently an assistant professor of cinema at the City University of New York.     Jason Varone, born in Brooklyn in 1976, returned to New York in 1998 to study fine art and completed a Master's degree at New York University in 2003, where he was influenced by Professor Peter Campus; he experiments with painting and video and currently lives and works in Brooklyn. His work has been exhibited at Art in General (New York), The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and the Boston Center for the Arts; he received a Finishing Funds 2006 award from the Experimental Television Center and maintains the website www.varonearts.org.

  • Jason Bernagozzi People

    Jason Bernagozzi is a video and new media artist based in Rochester, NY; he uses video, sound and electronic forms to produce single-channel video and electronic media environments that explore liminal states of language, memory and perceptual experience. He received a Master of Fine Arts in Electronic Integrated Art from Alfred University in 2010. His work was exhibited nationally and internationally at the European Media Arts Festival in Osnabruk, Germany (2009), the LOOP Video Art Festival in Barcelona, Spain (2009, 2010), the Beyond/In Western NY Biennial (2010) and the Yan Gerber International Arts Festival (2nd) in Hebei Province, China (2010).

  • Alan Powell People

    Alan Powell is a video artist who works collaboratively with Connie Coleman; he was an original member of the Electron Movers and has been active in the video art scene since its early days. He resides in Bucks County, PA, and is Associate Professor of Film and Media Arts at Temple University and Director of the Undergraduate Production Sequence in Film/Media Arts; his works have been shown at The Kitchen, The Alternative Museum, The Museum of Moving Image, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Long Beach Museum and the Musee d'Arte Moderne in Paris, and have been broadcast on Swiss and Danish television as well as The Learning Channel and PBS in the United States.

  • Leslie Raymond and Jason Stevens People

    Leslie Raymond is a video artist based in San Antonio, Texas; her films and videos have screened at international festivals and at Museo de Arte Contemprareano (Argentina), where she won first place in video installation. She performs as vjFutureWorkerGirl and teaches video and digital media at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she started the New Media Studio Program. Since 1999 she and Jason Jay Stevens have collaborated as Potter-Belmar Labs, producing live cinema, single-channel video and installation; their short Double Thunder won Honorable Mention at the 2009 Fargo Film Festival, and Stevens designs and fabricates museum exhibitions and works as a laptop-based composer.
