MFA with honors in photography from Rhode Island School of Design in 2003, BA magna cum laude in sculpture from Brown University, Roberta Joslin award for Excellence in Art. Grew up in Newton, MA, lived in Tokyo for a year, and lived in Paris from 1993 to 2001. Live in NYC and travel frequently for art projects in the US and Europe.
Photography, video, mixed media installation and performance exhibited in several locations internationally, including the LOOP Video Art Festival in Barcelona, the 51st Venice Biennale, and L'…cole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris. Work included in "Global Warming: Artists Speak" in CA, and in an exhibition traveling to the Katonah Museum of Art, Ohio State University, and Beacon, NY. Have shown in New York City, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, Providence, Hartford, Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, New Mexico, Buffalo, Savannah, twice at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, at the Laguna Art Museum, and abroad in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, New Zealand and Slovenia.
Artist residencies at Yaddo, the Experimental Television Center, and the Cité Internationale des Arts. During residency in Paris, I grew 300 trees from seeds gathered from an historic European Beech tree that grows in the United States. Created one of the internet's first collaborative web sites, online in 5 languages, through which I invited "people voyaging through the hyperspeedy international space of cyberculture, to plant a tree in our old planet." Mailed seeds and tree growing instructions to web browsers from around the world, and exchanged trees for creative contributions to the site with over 230 people from 38 different countries.
