Julia Meltzer

Julia Meltzer is a media artist and executive director of Clockshop, a non-profit production company (Los Angeles, CA). Her works are realized in video, installation, and performance/presentations. Her video works include State of Emergency: Inside the L.A.P.D. (Canner/Meltzer, 30 min, 1993), Room Service (15 min, 1994), Conversation Piece (20 min, 1997), and It's not my memory of it (Speculative Archive, 25 min, 2003).

Installations include Baggage Claim (1997-98). Her work has been exhibited and broadcast at venues including Creative Time's Art in the Anchorage, The New Museum of Contemporary Art (New York), Mass MOCA (West Adams, Massachusetts), Forum Stadpark (Graz, Austria), the Dutch Electronic Arts Festival (Rotterdam, the Netherlands) and on select PBS stations.

    Jillian McDonald teaches art at Pace University in New York City and curates and co-directs the Pace Digital Gallery; her critical writing and curated projects focus on performative art in temporary or unexpected places, including the online exhibition Ebay: Buy or Sell or Buy. Her work has been shown at The Whitney Museum's Artport, Year Zero One (Toronto), La Biennale de Montréal and ISEA 2004 (Talinn), and recent solo/two-person shows include vertexList, TPW and YYZ.     Barbara Rosenthal (born 17 August 1948) is a New York–based conceptual polyartist who has produced photographs, videos, super/8 films, objects, games, performances, book-art and interactive novelties; her work was shown at The Jewish Museum (Time and Memory: Video Art and Identity, 1988) and the Center For Photography in Woodstock (Time, Memory, and the Limits of Photography, 1995), and is held by The Whitney Museum and MoMA. She studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, Art Students' League (1964–66), earned a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon (1970) and an M.F.A. from Queens College/CUNY (1973), and has taught at numerous institutions including Tisch School of the Arts/NYU and CUNY/College of Staten Island (teaching Writing since 1992); published books include Clues to Myself (1981), Sensations (1984), Homo Futurus (1996) and Soul & Psyche (1999).

    Deborah Johnson, aka CandyStations, is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer who works as a traveling video performer and has designed visuals and sets for Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, Chocolat & Akito, Calexico, and Lambchop; when home she produces web, print, animation and video projects and has exhibited worldwide in group and solo shows. In January 2008 she collaborated with Truckstop Media's Braden King and musician Shahzad Ismaily on an installation and performance at Sundance's New Frontiers, and in August 2008 she attended the Digital Media Residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts where she worked and performed with German audio artist Carsten Nicolai.     Michele Thursz is an independent curator and director of Post Media Network; in 1999 she co-founded and directed Moving Image Gallery, NYC. Recent projects include a collaboration in a production with the electronic orphanage and artist Miltos Manetas and a guest curator role at the New Museum's Media Z Lounge organizing Cin-o-matic- Memory and the Cinematic Perception, which examined the impact of new technologies on the cinematic experience. She is organizing a group show entitled In Medias Res: Technology's Impact on Artistic Practice at Exit Art, NYC; she has consulted for http://www.Turbulence.org, a net art initiative, and for bitforms gallery, NYC, on marketing and distribution of software related art.

    Deborah Stratman was Adjunct Assistant Professor of Film, Video, and New Media (1998) at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; she holds a BFA (1990) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in Film/Video (1995) from the California Institute of the Arts. Her work has been exhibited at Temporary Services Gallery (Chicago), Para/Site Gallery (Hong Kong), the Latvian Museum of Foreign Art (Riga) and Smioagalleri (Reykjavik), and screened at San Francisco Cinematheque, Rotterdam, Sundance, Viennale 2002, L'Alternativa (Barcelona) and CinemaTexas.
