Mary Billyou

Mary Billyou works professionally as a camera operator and assistant in the film and video industry. To date, her films have shown throughout the United States, the Czech Republic, and in China. A recent studio graduate of The Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program, she graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago's MFA program in film and video in 2002.

She currently participates in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Swing Space program, working on an installation, which includes a video she is finishing with the help of the Experimental TV Center's Finishing Funds 2006.

    John Hanhardt is curator of film and video at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City; he integrated video into the Whitney’s exhibition program and curated the Nam June Paik retrospective in 1982. Trained at NYU with a MoMA internship, he became Whitney department head in 1974 after serving at the Walker Art Center; he organized Projected Video (1975) and Re-Vision (1979) and placed video in Biennials from 1973.     Eve Heller studied film at SUNY Buffalo's Department of Media Study and at New York University; she received a BA in German Literature from Hunter College in 1987 and an MFA in filmmaking from Bard College in 1993. After graduating she worked as a post-production manager at Film/Video Arts, a non-profit media access center in New York City. Her films have been shown in the U.S. and internationally at venues including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the American Museum of the Moving Image, Anthology Film Archives, Pacific Film Archives, Toronto's Cinematheque Ontario, and the Rotterdam International Film Festival; she currently lives and works in Buffalo, NY.
