Work History: Futurekids (1996): Anchorage, Alaska. PC-based technology program for children (ages 7-15). I worked on the electronic music and MIDI program.

BarthBrothers (1999): New Orleans, Louisiana. Construction and Fabrication of large scale Mardi Gras Floats and Statues for parades and Installations. C.O.R.E Group (1999): New Orleans, Louisiana. Co-founder of non-profit group with books-for-prisoners program.

Nascent Project (2000-present): Non-Profit group based in Berkeley CA; Have taught classes on electronics and music, and helped with general activities. (http://www.nascentproject.org) Katabatik MetaCom (2001-present) Oakland, CA. Founded Record Label and sound design group. (https://www.katabatik.org).

Other Experience: Have mastered and assembled numerous compilation CDs and records for production for Katabatik MetaCom. Helped organize and run sound for annual music festival 7 consecutive years in Oregon.

Michael Buchanan is an audio producer and engineer experienced in digital recording, mixing and post-production across DAT, CDR, MiniDisc and hard-disk systems on Macs and PC; he also works in live sound and C/V and MIDI-based composition. He pursued a BA at San Francisco State University (2002/3) after coursework at University of Oregon, City College of San Francisco and in Alaska (1999–2001). Work history includes Futurekids and BarthBrothers; he works with Nascent Project and Katabatik MetaCom, mastered compilation CDs and run sound at an Oregon music festival seven consecutive years.

    Bart Bridger Woodstrup (born 1973) is a computer musician and MFA candidate in the Integrated Electronic Arts Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York; he studies under Pauline Oliveros, Neil Rolnick, and Curtis Bahn. He applies formal visual-arts training, computer programming, and sensor data to generate real-time audio and video synthesis and to create video as visual support for his compositions. He has taught at the Illinois Institute of Art at Schaumburg and Northern Illinois University, worked in the Experimental Television Center Residency Program, and presented at SEAMUS, Siggraph, and ISEA.

  • Sang Um Nam People

    Sang Um Nam is an artist, scholar and inventor in Madison, WI who teaches Imaging Media (New Media Concentration) in the Department of Communication Technologies at University of Wisconsin, Platteville; he holds a B.S. in Molecular Biology and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts from UC San Diego (2001) and an M.F.A. in Electronic Integrated Arts from Alfred University (2004). He produced Silent Scream (2004) and Fluxion (2004), developed audio mixers and controllers including Quadraphonic and Octaphonic Sound Perspective Generator and the Sensor Board (2003), and presented international education and media research at conferences including Global Education 2007; he traveled for workshops to South Korea, Thailand, Nepal and Myanmar.

  • Matt McBane People

    Matt McBane is a multimedia composer and violinist whose work spans projected image and sound, minimalist electronic composition, and amplified/processed string quartet with live video; his pieces have been presented at The Whitney Museum of Art and Carnegie Hall. He composes interdisciplinary works including the half-hour Ghost in the Machine (with Lucy H.G.), leads the New York-based experimental band Build, and directs the Carlsbad Music Festival. He studied composition at USC Thornton with Donald Crockett, was an Associate Artist at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in 2007, appeared at festivals including Bang On A Can and Aspen, and has received grants from organizations including the Arts Ministry of New South Wales, the Norwegian Consulate, ASCAP, Meet the Composer, American Composer's Forum, and NAMM.

    Scott Smallwood was born in Dallas and began recording at age ten; he works in listening, improvisation and phonography. He has performed with improvisors and had instrumental works played by ensembles such as Network for New Music and Ensemble SurPlus. From 1997 to 2003 he served as studio engineer and technical director at the iEAR Studios, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; his work has been presented at Roulette and the 2006 Sonic Circuits festival; he holds music degrees from Miami University of Ohio, Peabody Conservatory and Princeton University.
