Michael Camoin
Mike Camoin is an Albany-based filmmaker whose documentaries Inside the Blue Line and How to Make an Adirondack Packbasket focus on the diminishing Adirondack culture. "Inside the Blue Line" was awarded the Best Short Documentary at the 1996 NYS Capital Film Slam, and a Certificate of Merit at the 38th Rochester International Amateur Film Festival. Each program has aired on PBS-TV stations across the northeast and has reached wide audiences through independent self-distribution.
A leader in the independent film movement, Camoin founded Upstate Independents, the Albany-AIVF Salon (1995) and was voted Best Local Filmmaker by Metroland (1999). His production company, Videos For Change, LLC was selected by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Incubator program located in Troy, NY where numerous projects are currently in development including dynamic use of streaming media. Camoin holds a Masters in Social Work from the State University of New York at Albany.
