Mitchell Deoudes holds a computer science degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

He has worked in digital visual effects for (too?) many years, completing tours of duty at George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Centropolis Effects, and other facilities on such films as "Twister", "Godzilla", and "Hollow Man". His influences include Phillip K. Dick, Stanley Kubrick, and P.T. Anderson. He is an avid welded metal sculptor.

    James Duesing is a Pittsburgh-based filmmaker and an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University; he has produced film and video with live action and animation and has made computer animations since 1987 after buying a computer in 1986. His work is held by MoMA (New York) and the UCLA Film Archive; his awards include Prix Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria), an AFI Independent Filmmaker Fellowship and an NEA grant. His work has been exhibited at festivals and venues including Sundance and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

  • Allan Kaprow People

    Allan Kaprow (1927–2006) studied art and philosophy at New York University and earned an MA in art history from Columbia; he also studied at the Hans Hoffman School of Fine Arts and with John Cage (composition studies at the New School, 1956–1958). He taught at Rutgers, Pratt, SUNY Stony Brook, CalArts (Associate Dean) and the University of California at San Diego, and co-directed Project Other Ways in Berkeley to introduce studio artists into public schools. Initially a painter, he developed environmental works in 1957–58 that led to happenings (coined 1959) and published Assemblage, Environments and Happenings (1966).
