Meli Walker co-founded the Performed Audio/Video [PAV] groups NNeng and The Poool.

Additional Live Video productions include work with David Weinstein, Julie Nichols, Elise Kermani, 77Hz, Barbara Held and Hoppy Kamiyama performed in USA, Barcelona, Madrid and Tokyo.

Her solo works include photography, glass sculpture and 3D animation manifested as installations, 2D and sculpture.

Meli Walker has received residencies at the Experimental Television Center, Women's Studio Workshop and HarvestWorks.

    Nancy Meli Walker, who shifted from fashion design to cast-glass sculpture integrating computer animation and live television, and Benton Bainbridge, an NYU-trained video artist with early experience in Super 8, electronics and live performance, are core members of live video-performance group The Poool alongside Angie Eng; they have performed together in and around New York City since 1993. Bainbridge co-founded the 77Hz group with Philip R. Bonner, Jonathan Giles, Eric Schefter and Michael Schell and held a residency at the Experimental Television Center in 1989; NYU acquired a Fairlight CVI in 1985. The Poool performs about once a year with largely scripted suites, while NNeng (No Eng) performs about monthly with more improvisation, including collaboration with musician Brian Moran.

  • Angie Eng People

    Angie Eng (born 1969, San Francisco, California) is a media artist working in video, installation and time-based performance; she trained as a painter at UC Santa Barbara and moved to New York City in 1993 to pursue time-based arts and live video performance. She co-founded and co-directed the live video performance group The Poool with Nancy Meli Walker and Benton Bainbridge (1996–1999) and has performed and exhibited at institutions including the Whitney Museum at Philip Morris, Lincoln Center Video Festival and the New Museum. Her videos have appeared in international festivals; her projects have been supported by Eyebeam, Artists Space, Harvestworks, NYSCA and the Jerome Foundation, and she serves as a correspondent for AOA.

    Deborah Johnson, aka CandyStations, is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer who works as a traveling video performer and has designed visuals and sets for Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, Chocolat & Akito, Calexico, and Lambchop; when home she produces web, print, animation and video projects and has exhibited worldwide in group and solo shows. In January 2008 she collaborated with Truckstop Media's Braden King and musician Shahzad Ismaily on an installation and performance at Sundance's New Frontiers, and in August 2008 she attended the Digital Media Residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts where she worked and performed with German audio artist Carsten Nicolai.     Account of a panel conversation between Barbara London, David Ross and Constance DeJong at Hunter College Art Galleries presented in conjunction with The Experimental Television Center: A History, ETC... (Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art, Cornell Library; Sept 25–Nov 21, 2015). Panelists discussed histories of video and image-processing practices and named Nam June Paik, Bill Viola and Vito Acconci; Barbara London described efforts to bring video into MoMA and David Ross expressed skepticism toward some image-processed work. The attendee criticized the panel for limited attention to ETC artists, recorded Ross’s remark that one had to be stoned to watch image-processed work, and reflected on ETC technologies and practices including real-time patching, flow and works such as Global Groove and A Tribute to John Cage.
