    New York State Council on the Arts Media Program (Director John Giancola; Program Analyst Arthur Tsuchiya) is reported in the 1981-82 annual report; Total Local Assistance Awards are listed as $32,457,400 and Media as $1,176,500. The program states a 1981-82 allocation of $1,306,300 (including $130,000 NEA funds) awarded to 63 organizations; over 20% ($256,723) supported production/post-production and about 20% ($246,895) funded artist-in-residence and regranting facilities to provide access to specialized technical equipment. Funded works included Portraits by Joan Logue, Vacuums by Gary Hill and Gold Mountain Dream by Peter Chow; the first retrospective of Nam June Paik was presented at a leading New York City museum, and the program supported exhibitions, broadcasts, cablecasts, cable television programming and media center workshops.
