Nerve Theory

Tom Sherman and Bernhard Loibner have been working together since 1993, and as Nerve Theory since 1998 when they premiered their performance Shades of Catatonia at Ars Electronica's INFOWAR festival in Linz, Austria. Since then Sherman and Loibner have created numerous performances and recordings as Nerve Theory, broadcasting extensively in Austria and Germany and performing in New York, Berlin, Vienna and Montreal.

Their most recent performance, Remote Possibilities, opened at the Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna in 2005. Their previous recordings include Personal Human (with Jean Piche), ORF/Ars Electronica 1997, and Planetary Disorder, All Quiet 2003. Bernhard Loibner lives in Vienna, Austria. Tom Sherman splits his time between Syracuse, NY and Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

    Morgan Miller was born in New York City in 1977 and began making cut-paper and hinged animation as a teenager using a Super 8 camera; William Zimmer of The New York Times characterized his work as mildly sinister with an absurd edge. His most recent animated short, Farber's Nerve, toured internationally with the 2006 Manhattan Short Film Festival and was exhibited at 137 screenings across the US, Canada, and Europe. He received a Finishing Funds 2007 award from the Experimental Television Center.

    Bryan Wolf (born Detroit 1960) is a composer, sound projectionist, sound artist and live-electronics specialist who studied organ and composition at Kalamazoo College and continued composition studies at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart in 1987. He has performed across Europe, North America, Asia and South Africa with orchestras including Staatsorchester Stuttgart and the Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra. He worked with Karlheinz Stockhausen from 1989 and has been Stockhausen's personal sound projection assistant since 1998; he heads the class for sound and spatial design at Pforzheim University.
