Yasuaki Nakajima was born in Hokkaido, Japan. After high school, he went to Tokyo, where he honed his craft by shooting a short claymation film with secondhand Super-8 mm film camera in his apartment at night while working during the day as a window cleaner. In 1994, he hitchhiked all around Australia filming his 6-month experience in the desert for 6 months. He moved to New York in 1996 to join the independent film community; he remains an independent filmmaker. "After the Apocalypse" received a Finishing Funds 2001award from the Experimental TV Center. "After the Apocalypse" is a futuristic drama, B&W, 16mm-film about five strangers trying to make sense of a New World after a devastating urban catastrophe challenges all their human needs. I has been screened at the Asian American Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival. It is an official selection of the Lake Placid Film Festival in 2004. http://www.aftertheapocalypse.com
