  • Regional fellowship project Chronology

    Media Arts Program at the National Endowment for the Arts initiated a regional fellowship project; the video and film fellowships were launched by the NEA and the American Film Institute. Grants were distributed through five regional media arts centers representing 35 states; by 1983 every state except New York was represented and NYS artists were excluded. Under the new program the regional ceiling was $150,000 per year and awards could not exceed $15,000; Virgil Grillo was Director of the new program.
