Rachel Siegel

Rachel Siegel is an artist, a community arts advocate and an arts educator, born and raised in Los Angeles, California. In 2002, she completed her Master of Fine Arts at University at Buffalo. She graduated from UC Berkeley with honors in 1989 with simultaneous Bachelor of Arts degrees in The Practice of Art and Peace & Conflict Studies.

Her feminist art practice includes video, installation, digital arts, photography and book-making. Selected exhibitions at the Amory Center (CA), Carnegie Art Center (NY), Squeaky Wheel (NY), SPAS Gallery and other venues.

    Kristine Marx holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from Hunter College; she has served as lecturer at the Whitney Museum of American Art and at the Hudson River Museum and has curated shows for several galleries in Manhattan. Her work has been exhibited at Plane Space, NY and in group exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Canada and Germany.     Lauren Petty is a media artist and teacher working in sound, installation and film; she earned an MA in Video Art & Performance from NYU's Gallatin school in 1999 and is Chief Video Engineer at Harvestworks Media Arts Center. She teaches at The New School, the International Center of Photography and Pratt Institute and produces multiple-channel video/sound installations, single-channel works, interactive video scores and collaborative projects with The Wooster Group. Her work has been exhibited and screened at institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Brooklyn Museum; she has received grants and fellowships, including two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, and residencies at MacDowell and Yaddo.

    Melinda Barlow is Associate Professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder; she joined CU in 1996 after teaching at New York University, the School of Visual Arts, and Queens College, City University of New York. She edited Mary Lucier: Art and Performance (2000, Johns Hopkins University Press) and is a film and video historian specializing in contemporary independent women film and videomakers; her articles have appeared in journals including Camera Obscura and Art Journal. She received the Lyn Blumenthal Memorial Award and a CU Center for the Humanities and the Arts Fellowship in 2005; she founded the Leah Kelly Memorial Award and has a forthcoming book, Lost Objects of Desire (University of Minnesota Press).

    Jennifer Hamilton holds an MFA from Concordia University and is presently teaching in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Regina; she received awards from the Canada Council and Concordia University and participated in residencies at the Banff Center. Her work has been exhibited at Harborfront (Toronto), Neutral Ground Artists Run Center (Canada), Loggia Gallery (Toronto) and the Science Museum (London).
