    Jean Haynes is a librarian at the Olean Public Library and the Patterson Public Library who has been active for many years in the independent media community; from the mid 1960's to the 1980's she worked at the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System and built a collection of independent video and film. She collaborated with the early video group Survival Arts Media on workshops and production in library, educational and community settings; she curates an annual exhibition series, Rural Images, which brings independently produced film and video to audiences in the Southwestern area of New York State.
