Sandra Gibson

Sandra Gibson is an award-winning independent filmmaker whose animated films have been shown in museums and galleries such as Anthology Film Archives and Northwest Film Center. Festivals include the Rotterdam International Film Festival, Independent Exposure, Empire State Film Festival, and the Ann Arbor Film Festival. She has won awards at the Black Maria Film Festival, the New England Film and Video Festival, and the South Beach Animation Festival.

Her subject matter and vision are unique; they include abstraction and false narratives, using hand-made elements and found footage as well as computer generated elements. She holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and has studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

    Dara Meyers-Kingsley is a film and video art curator specializing in collections management, preservation and exhibitions; she is a founding member and Director of Independent Media Arts Preservation, Inc. (IMAP) and has consulted for VidiPax. She served as Director of the Film and Video Collections at The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts (1993–1996) and as film and video program curator at The Brooklyn Museum (1987–1993), organized 20 exhibitions, curated the touring Adrian Piper retrospective MEDI(t)Ations (1999–2001), and served on granting panels and selection committees for arts organizations.
