Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts; awards for 1996 were made to individual artists and small teams for projects in 35mm and 16mm film, super-8, video, CD ROM, Quicktime movies, computer animation and mixed-media installations, including works by Shawn Atkins (Frame by Frame Fierce), Zoe Beloff (Beyond), Alan Berliner (Found Sound) and Elizabeth Rodgers (The Exodus 1947 Project). 1996 Playback 1996: Video Preservation Roundtable Chronology
Playback 1996: Video Preservation Roundtable was held in San Francisco on March 29–30 and organized by the Bay Area Video Coalition with assistance from Media Alliance; the international symposium was funded by the Getty Foundation and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The event is described as the first to build alliances between the media arts and art conservation.
