Skip Battaglia

Skip Battaglia's films and animations have been honored around the globe including Japan, England, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Portugal, Mexico, and Cannes. In addition, he travels the world as a guest speaker and lecturer. In 1994-95 he received a Fulbright-Hays Teaching and Research Grant to teach film animation design and production at the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico.

He has a Master of Science degree in Television-Radio from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy from Boston College. Professor Battaglia has been teaching a variety of 16mm film production, animation, scriptwriting, and aesthetic courses to undergraduate and graduate students at RIT since 1987. http://www.rit.edu/~cfbpph/

  • Ross McElwee People

    Filmmaker Ross McElwee’s films have screened at festivals in Berlin, London, Vienna, Rotterdam, Florence, Sydney and Wellington; retrospectives have been held at the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the American Museum of the Moving Image (New York) and …tats généraux du film documentaire. He has received fellowships and grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the American Film Institute, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Massachusetts Arts Council. Since 1986 he has taught filmmaking at Harvard University, where he is a professor in the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies.

  • Stepahnie Maxwell People

    Stephanie Maxwell is co-founder and co-director of the ImageMovementSound festivals and teaches film, video and animation production and history in the School of Film and Animation at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has taught, lectured and conducted workshops internationally and was an artist-in-residence at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. Her award-winning animated works have exhibited in international film and television programs and festivals, including retrospectives in New Zealand, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, LUX in London and the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris; her works are collected by museums as works of art.

  • Martin Arnold People

    Martin Arnold is an Austrian filmmaker and installation artist with a Ph. D. in Media Psychology from the University of Vienna; he has taught film production at institutions in North America and Europe. Since 1989 his work has shown at 147 international film festivals including Cannes, Rotterdam, Oberhousen and the New York Film Festival, and he has won 36 awards. His films have screened in museums including the Centre Georges Pompidou and MoMA; recent installations Deanimated-The Invisible Ghost, Forsaken and Dissociated were created with Digital Fusion, Combustion and After Effects and are showing at the Kunsthalle Wien.

  • Phillippe Blanchard People

    Phillippe Blanchard studied film production and screenprinting at Concordia University after narrowly missing the cut for the Montreal Expos; he then traveled and worked in the Middle East and Latin America and returned to Montréal to make films on perpetual motion machines. He later moved to Toronto, took a Visual Effects course at Seneca and started at Head Gear in 2004; in 2005 he made Taco Monde, his first animated film about food, and is currently working on a sequel.

  • Erik Moskowitz and Amanda Trager People

    Erik Moskowitz makes installations and films that examine the relationship between cinema space and gallery space; solo installation exhibitions at Momenta Art, Freight and Volume, Holiday (NYC) and Le Sous Salon (Paris); festival screenings at Impakt (Netherlands), Antimatter (Canada), Oberhausen (Germany), Experimenta (India), Press Play (Carnegie Mellon) and Experiments in Cinema (University of New Mexico); website http://www.americantrance.com/. Amanda Trager combines painting, sculpture and installation with first-person prose narrative; solo exhibitions at Momenta Art, Annika Sundvik (NYC), Clifford-Smith Gallery (Boston) and Le Sous Salon (Paris); group shows include Brooklyn Museum's Open House, NextNext Visual Art program at BAM, White Box gallery and Feature gallery (NYC); both live and work in NYC.
