Somi Roy
Somi Roy, a past Director of the International Film Seminars, is an independent film programmer who has programmed over 50 film exhibitions, specializing in Asian and Asian American film and video. His film and video exhibitions have been presented at The Museum of Modern Art, The Film Society of Lincoln Center, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, among other sites. Roy was film programmer at the Asia Society from 1984 to 1990.
He was born in Manipur, India and received his post-graduate degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.
