Steve Dietz

Steve is Director of the ISEA 2006 Symposium and ZeroOne San Jose: A Global Festival of Art on the Edge taking place in August 2006 in San Jose, California. In 2005 he co-curated Database Imaginary at the Walter Phillips Gallery, Banff, Canada, where he is curatorial fellow. He curated the web projects for the 2005 exhibition Making Things Public, at ZKM, Karlsruhe, curated by Bruno Latour and Peter Weibel.

With Sarah Cook, he co-curated The Art Formerly Known as New Media, which opened at the Walter Philips Gallery in September 2005. He is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. www.yproductions.com.

    Frank Shifreen is affiliated with Columbia University and Adelphi University; he has recent exhibitions at Scott Pfaffman Gallery, TNC Gallery and Open Space Gallery. He curated shows for NextMuseum (Detroit), TNC Gallery (NY) and Open Space Gallery (PA) and performed web development for Shamansdream, Hereincyberspace and The digitalmuseum.   • Steve Seid People

    Steve Seid is the video curator at the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley, CA; he pursues video preservation and writes on electronic media. He was co-curator of the Ant Farm retrospective currently touring the U.S. and Europe, staged the first live PowerPoint competition, and is co-editing a book with accompanying exhibition on the 50-year history of San Francisco avant-garde media.

  • Mark Tribe People

    Mark Tribe is an artist and occasional curator whose work engages art, technology, and politics; his work has been shown at DeCordova Biennial, Park Avenue Armory (New York City), and the National Center for Contemporary Art (Moscow), and he organized curatorial projects for the New Museum, MASS MoCA, and inSite_05. He authored The Port Huron Project (Charta, 2010) and New Media Art (Taschen, 2006) and founded Rhizome in 1996. He holds an MFA (UC San Diego, 1994) and a BA (Brown, 1990) and is Assistant Professor of Modern Culture and Media Studies at Brown University.

  • Steve Bradley - NOMADS People

    Nomads was founded by a group of artists, curators and arts administrators dedicated to exploring the cross-section of art and technology; the collective views the Web as a mechanism for the collective creation and dissemination of work by artists. Steve Bradley practices sound performance, time-based media and material culture and collects debris from urban and suburban landscapes; his work has been exhibited at the Washington Center for Photography and Pulse Art. He curated art@radio, was artist in residence at Communication Front (Bulgaria), has performed at international festivals and is presently professor of visual art at the University of Maryland.

  • Andreas Broeckmann People

    Andreas Broeckmann lives and works in Berlin and has been Artistic Director of transmediale festival for art and digital culture berlin since autumn 2000; the festival attracts 35,000 visitors and presents and discusses media art in Europe. The festival has emphasised debates and developments in media art, including electronic music, software art and locative media. Broeckmann studied art history, sociology and media studies in Germany and Britain, worked as project manager at V2_Organisation Rotterdam, Institute for the Unstable Media from 1995—2000, co-maintains the Spectre mailing list and is a member of mikro and of the European Cultural Backbone; he teaches on media art, digital culture and an aesthetics of the machinic.
