    White Ox Films, a Rochester, New York non-profit incorporated in 1972 and directed by David Tulbert, sought to develop and publicize conceptual, technical and practical systems in cinema technology, aesthetics and communications and to place film and television in public hands. In the 1970s it presented exhibitions, ran Film Farm (an eight-week summer workshop for gifted high school students) and screened Summer Dreams outdoors at the Rochester Highland Bowl; two projects were funded by the New York State Council on the Arts under Peter Bradley. A 1975 NYSCA grant established the Cinemedia Resource Center, which loaned Super-8 and 16mm equipment, offered workshops and a visiting-artist program, published the Cinemedia Newsletter and pursued technology development with additional NEA support.
