Zhang Ga

Zhang Ga is a media artist and co-director of agent.netart. He has exhibited internationally at the Ars Electronica Center, Dutch Electronic Art Festival, Whitney Museum of American Art and Singapore Art Museum among others, curated exhibitions, organized conferences and digital salons, written on new media art practice and criticism, and served on jury duties for media art grants. He is the artistic director of the Millennium Dialogue: Beijing International New Media Arts Exhibition and Symposium, an annual project he initiated and organized, and a member of the curatorial committee of the 13th International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA2006).

Zhang Ga has taught at the MFA Design and Technology Program at Parsons School of Design, School of Visual Arts and Pratt Institute. Most recently he has joined the New York Institute of Technology as associate professor of communication arts. Zhang Ga studied at the Central School of Fine Arts in Beijing and University of Arts in Berlin (UDK) and holds an MFA from the Parsons School of Design in New York City.

    Patrick Lichty (US) is a technologically-based conceptual artist, writer, independent curator, animator for the activist group The Yes Men, and Executive Editor of Intelligent Agent Magazine; he began showing technological media art in 1989 and explores the social relations between us and media. His solo and collaborative works have appeared at the Whitney & Turin Biennials, Maribor Triennial, Performa Performance Biennial, Ars Electronica and the International Symposium on the Electronic Arts (ISEA); he works extensively with virtual worlds including Second Life and his work with the performance art group Second Front has been featured in Flash Art, Eikon Milan and ArtNews. He is Assistant Professor of Interactive Arts & Media at Columbia College Chicago and resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

    Caitlin Jones holds a combined research position in the Curatorial and Conservation departments at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; in collaboration with the Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science, and Technology and the Variable Media Network she co-edited Permanence Through Change: The Variable Media Approach and co-curated Seeing Double: Emulation in Theory and Practice at the Guggenheim. She was curatorial assistant for the Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin exhibition Nam June Paik: Global Groove 2004; her writing on variable media preservation and presentation has appeared in a wide range of international publications.
