    Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center supported by the New York State Council on the Arts; awards for 1998 were made to a range of video, film and multimedia artists including Alan Berliner, Anita Cheng, Abigail Child and others.     Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported in part by the New York State Council on the Arts; with a 2003 award from mediaThe foundation it funded special awards for new media and intermedia performance. 2003 awardees included Peter Bianco (Games for Two), Abigail Child (Cake and Steak), Carrie Dashow (10 Cameras, 60 minutes), Prema Murthy (DE-Structure Series) and others; projects ranged from hand-processed 16mm film and multi-channel/DVD video installations to interactive web-based works, motion-capture/3D animation and performance.

    New York State Council on the Arts Media Program, directed by John Giancola, reports Total Local Assistance Awards with Media allocations of $992,000, $1,075,000 and $1,127,000 alongside total award figures. The report traces the Program from its development in 1970, describes Council support for production and post-production facilities (including the TV Lab at Channel 13 and ZBS Sound Studios), media resource centers and exhibition programs, and notes a new Arts Programming for Television category beginning 1980-81. It lists year-by-year grants to dozens of New York organizations and names advisory panelists with affiliations and service years.

    The Experimental Television Center initiated the Electronic Arts Grants Program with support from the New York State Council on the Arts. The program includes Presentation Funds to support organizations in the State for the exhibition of works of electronic art and Finishing Funds to support individual artists completing moving image, sonic and web-based works.

    Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts; awards for 1997 were made to numerous artists including Diane Brown, Luca Buvoli, Ethan Crenson, Jonathan Mednick and others. Recipients produced videos, films, installations, animation and a multi-media interactive CD Rom addressing subjects such as adolescence, identity, memory, domestic computing, internet collaboration, historical events and Holocaust memory. Projects used technologies ranging from 1950s TV sets and lo-tech materials to real-time internet participation and CD-Rom interactivity; a panel featured Pia Cseri-Briones and Jim Hubbard.

    New York State Council on the Arts Media Program annual report 1980–81 records total local assistance awards of $30,820,133 with $1,170,000 allocated to media; program staff include Director John Giancola and Program Analyst Arthur Tsuchiya. The report itemizes grants by category—Media Centers, Video and Audio Production, Artists-in-Residence, Regranting Facility, Exhibition, Arts Programming for Television, Service Projects, Facility operating expenses and Workshops—and lists funded organizations and award amounts (examples: Educational Broadcasting Corporation $75,000; Syracuse University Synapse Video Center $41,640; Haleakala $31,740). Advisory panelists are listed with affiliations and appointment years (1980–82 and 1980–81).
