The Experimental Television Center begins the Electronic Arts Grants Program, with support from the New York State Council on the Arts.

Presentation Funds provides support to organizations in the State for the exhibition of works of electronic art. Finishing Funds provides support to individual artists to help with the completion of moving image, sonic and web-based works.

Projects include web-based sonic art, digital video performance, 16mm film, multi-monitor and four-channel installations; several projects received additional funding from New Television's NTV Artbytes, Fulbright, the Banff Center, NYSCA, the Wexner Center, Art Matters, the Jerome Foundation, the Calvin Klein Foundation, the McAlpin Charitable Trust, the NY Community Trust and the Stonewall Community Foundation. A panel featuring Barbara Lattanzi and Vincent Grenier is noted.

    Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts; awards for 1997 were made to numerous artists including Diane Brown, Luca Buvoli, Ethan Crenson, Jonathan Mednick and others. Recipients produced videos, films, installations, animation and a multi-media interactive CD Rom addressing subjects such as adolescence, identity, memory, domestic computing, internet collaboration, historical events and Holocaust memory. Projects used technologies ranging from 1950s TV sets and lo-tech materials to real-time internet participation and CD-Rom interactivity; a panel featured Pia Cseri-Briones and Jim Hubbard.

    Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported in part by the New York State Council on the Arts; with a 2003 award from mediaThe foundation it funded special awards for new media and intermedia performance. 2003 awardees included Peter Bianco (Games for Two), Abigail Child (Cake and Steak), Carrie Dashow (10 Cameras, 60 minutes), Prema Murthy (DE-Structure Series) and others; projects ranged from hand-processed 16mm film and multi-channel/DVD video installations to interactive web-based works, motion-capture/3D animation and performance.

    Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts; awards for 2000 were made to artists and collaborations for projects spanning stereoscopic film, laserdisc installation, 16mm film, Web projects, video and multimedia performances, sound installations, and documentary and experimental works. Projects address topics including imagination and cinema technology, domestic space, dance, memory, cultural displacement, futures trading and police brutality. Panelists were Mara Alper and Robert Attanasio.
