Ariadna Capasso I was born in Buenos Aires. I received a B.A. from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1997. I received my M.F.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2000. I currently live and work in New York City. I have exhibited in Argentina, Mexico, Poland and the United States. I explore issues of disparate, sometimes conflicting, value systems amongst culturally diverse groups. My ultimate goal is to elicit questioning among the viewers/participants. I began my career as a painter and later shifted to the field of new technologies. My projects have included installations and performances using sound, slide and video projections. Some of the main projects include: La Conquista, a large-scale collaborative installation shown as part of Bargain Vision at the CU Art Galleries. The video of La Conquista was screened in Boston and Brooklyn, N.Y. as part of the Non Still Art Festival, at Scope Art Fair 2003 and in Gallery On, Poznan, Poland and Carry On, a photography and audio essay on home and homelessness exhibited at the Hatton Galleries, Colorado State Univeristy.
