    Charlotte Moorman (1933–1991) was a cellist and organizer who founded the New York Avant Garde Festival in 1963 and ran it until 1982; she studied at Juilliard. She met Nam June Paik in 1964 and collaborated on TV Bra for Living Sculpture (1969) and TV-Cello (1971), with engineering assistance from Ralph Hocking of the Experimental TV Center. In 1967 she was convicted of indecent exposure during Paik's Opera Sextronique, an episode that established her public identity as the Topless Cellist.
