• Cecelia Condit People

  Cecelia Condit is a filmmaker and Professor of Film and Video at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee whose videotapes since the early 1980s examine the relationship between traditional femininity and violent sexual crime, combining live action, appropriated television images, and original music. She has a background in sculpture, photography, and filmmaking; her narrative tapes locate violence in Suburbia, Middle America and juxtapose fairy-tale motifs and princesses with tabloid sensationalism. Titles listed include Beneath the Skin, Not a Jealous Bone, Oh, Rapunzel, Possibly in Michigan, Why Not, and A Sparrow; her work appears on the compilation Cecelia Condit Videoworks: Volume 1.

• Anabela Zigova People

  Anabela Zigova (born 1974, Bratislava, Slovakia; http://www.anabelazigova.net) lives in New York and makes work that moved from body-related objects, performance and video toward cinematic structures informed by writing and socio-political research. Her feature-length project was shown as a work in progress at Columbia University in 2006 and as a solo show in Paris; she presented it at the Transgression Conference at John Jay College, is a visiting scholar in the Sociology Department at the City University of New York, and holds an MFA from l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts and an M.A. from the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratislava.

  Jackie Passmore is a London-based film and video artist originally from the US; she has exhibited at ICA London and Tate Gallery and collaborated with Cory Arcangel [TEAM Gallery, NYC] and assume vivid astro focus [Tate, LA MOCA.]. She is known for live video performances in Europe, touring with Stereolab and Ladytron and presenting live mix video shows made from hand-manipulated 16mm and cut-paper collages that she reworks and manually triggers to projection for audiences of 500 to 15,000. Since moving to England she has completed over 60 video projects, many as project artist on activist media education projects.

  Deborah Johnson, aka CandyStations, is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer who works as a traveling video performer and has designed visuals and sets for Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, Chocolat & Akito, Calexico, and Lambchop; when home she produces web, print, animation and video projects and has exhibited worldwide in group and solo shows. In January 2008 she collaborated with Truckstop Media's Braden King and musician Shahzad Ismaily on an installation and performance at Sundance's New Frontiers, and in August 2008 she attended the Digital Media Residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts where she worked and performed with German audio artist Carsten Nicolai.
