Syracuse Alternative Media Network: Description (1998)

The Syracuse Alternative Media Network is a non-profit video production cooperative. It was formed in 1983 to produce documentaries and educational programs which would present an alternative viewpoint. SAMN produces and distributes documentaries which examine a variety of social problems. SAMN also provides production services to community groups and trains students and community groups in media production. SAMN endeavors to enable people to work for social change and justice through the illumination of structural problems of social causes. SAMN also teaches video production to grades 3-12 at several local schools.
