Eleanor Antin is an artist and filmmaker working in installation, photography, video, film, performance, drawing and writing; she held one-woman exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney and the La Jolla Museum and a 30-year retrospective at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art that toured the U.K. Her installations have been shown at institutions including the Hirschhorn, the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Arts, MOCA Los Angeles and the Jewish Museum, and her works are in major public collections. She produced mixed-media works such as 100 Boots, nine videotapes including Representational Painting (1971) and narrative films including The Man Without a World (1991); she received a Guggenheim Fellowship (1997) and taught visual arts at the University of California, San Diego from 1975, now Emeritus.
