Jenna Ricker

JENNA RICKER (Writer, Director, Producer) was writing scripts as early as eight years old. Handwritten on steno pads taken from her father's desk, they were primarily episodes of the television show Remington Steele, starring her childhood crush, Pierce Brosnan. By nine years old, thankfully, she had moved on to other projects. Originally from California, Jenna later moved to New York to study acting at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Discovering a preference for storytelling behind the scenes, she picked up writing again and began directing theater. Her first script, Solitaire, was part of the Writing Out Loud screenplay series. The Garage was a quarter-finalist in the 2004 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' prestigious Nicholl Fellowship. She is currently writing her next feature, Please Press the # Sign that was in competition as a short for Kaos Films, based in London. In addition, Jenna has directed and produced several shorts as well as the award winning film, The Overlookers.

    Barbara Hammer uses film and video to make the invisible visible and to reveal and celebrate marginalized peoples; her multi-level cinema sought visceral and intellectual engagement and encouraged stances for social change. Her work has been exhibited worldwide; in 1998 a major retrospective was held at Immaganaria, the 6th Women's Film Festival in Bologna. Her trilogy Nitrate Kisses (1992), Tender Fictions (1995) and History Lessons (2000) is considered classic cinema; retrospectives were held at The Arsenal in Berlin and at Image in Atlanta; her works are distributed by Frameline.

  • Caran Hartsfield People

    Caran Hartsfield received an MFA from the Graduate Film Dept. of New York University; her first feature screenplay, Bury Me Standing, was developed at the Cannes Film Festival's Cinefoundation Residency in Paris and workshopped at the Sundance Screenwriter's and Filmmaker's Labs. Bury Me Standing won multiple awards including the 1st Place Richard Vague NYU Alumni Screenwriting Award and the US 2007 Sundance/NHK award, and was slated for production in Summer 2009 starring Mos Def, Kerry Washington and Alfre Woodard. Hartsfield's short films Double-Handed, kiss it up to god and KING earned honors including 2nd Place at Cannes Film Festival - Cinefoundation and the Director's Guild of America Award, and KING screened at Sundance Film Festival 2007.
